Columbus Native Caitlin Prange Tabbed OAC Track Athlete of the Week

2014 Feb 3

Capital University senior Caitlin Prange, a graduate of Bishop Watterson High School, has been selected Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced Monday, Feb. 3.

Prange, a sprinter from Columbus, Ohio, won both the 200- and 400-meter dashes at the OAC South Split Meet on Saturday at Otterbein University in Westerville. She posted a time of 26.69 in the 200 to defeat 16 other competitors in the race, and downed five others in the 400 with a mark of 1:00.82. Prange also led the 4x400-meter relay team to a first-place finish in 4:22.62.

Prange also took home Women's Track Athlete of the Week accolades on Jan. 13 after a standout performance at the Capital Challenge two days earlier. She has earned the award three times during her four-year career.

An All-OAC honoree in both individual and relay events, Prange currently holds the nation's No. 25 time in the 400 and is the school record holder in the indoor 200.

The Crusaders visit Ohio Northern Saturday for the Joe Banks Invitational at 11 a.m. in Ada.

Each week, OAC coaches and sports information directors nominate student-athletes for each sport in season for the award.
