Columbus Native Bob Weisgarber Earns All-Ohio Honors

Bob Weisgarber, a senior at Capital University and graduate of St. Francis DeSales High School, has been named to the Ohio College Soccer Association All-Ohio second team.

Weisgarber, a senior and co-captain, earned his first-ever All-Ohio selection after also earning second team All-Great Lakes Region honors, as well as first team All-OAC and OAC Goalkeeper of the Year accolades.

This season, Weisgarber led the OAC and ranked in the top 75 in the nation in save percentage (.820), while also placing second in the conference in saves per match (5.26) and total saves (100).

He also placed in the top five in the conference in goals against (22) and goals-against average (1.13), all while posting a record of 9-7-3 in goal, including six solo shutout victories.

On the season, Weisgarber totaled one goal and two assists, with the goal serving as the game-winner from 60 yards out against Baldwin Wallace in an OAC Tournament quarterfinal match.

For his career, Weisgarber is a three-time Academic All-OAC selection, as well as a one-time all-region and all-conference selection.
