Chagrin Falls Native Maddie Wilson Named All-Region in Women's Lacrosse

2014 May 13

Maddie Wilson, a Chagrin Falls, OH, native and freshman on the Capital University women's lacrosse team, earned yet another post-season award, receiving second team Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Great Lakes All-Region accolades on Monday.

Wilson, a Chagrin Falls High School graduate, was one of 32 players in the Great Lakes Region to be selected as all-region honorees, adding another award to her resume.

Just last week, Wilson was named Ohio Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year, while also earning first team all-conference honors.

In her first season in goal for the Crusaders, Wilson placed third in the NCAA Division III in save percentage (.584) and ninth in the country in goals-against average (7.24), while ranking first in the OAC in saves (150).

In addition, Wilson placed second on the team in ground balls (35) and third in caused turnovers (25), all for a Crusaders defense that placed 11th in all of Division III in scoring defense (7.13).
