Capital University Recognizes Rachel Flenner for Excellence During Annual Honors Convocation

Capital University honored nearly 70 students for excellence in academics, service, leadership and achievement in their discipline at the annual Honors Convocation held during spring semester near the end of the academic year.

Rachel Flenner, of Twinsburg, OH 44087, received the Lauren R. Weed Theatre Prize for outstanding proficiency in theatre. This award is given to student who meet these criteria:

1) Student in the Communication Department at Capital University 2) Active in departmental pre-professional activities 3) Preference goes to those departmental students with a junior or senior status who have been involved in performance 4) Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 5) Actively involved in campus and community activities and demonstrate leadership qualities

Each year, nominations for the awards are submitted by faculty, staff and administrators depending on the nature of the award. Winners are selected by committees based on a nominee's level of achievement in a specific area, and the criteria set forth by the donor who established the award. Awards range from $50 to $4,800.
