Capital University Recognizes LeAnna Cotton for Excellence During Annual Honors Convocation

Capital University honored nearly 70 students for excellence in academics, service, leadership and achievement in their discipline at the annual Honors Convocation held during spring semester near the end of the academic year.

LeAnna Cotton, of Okeechobee, FL 34974, received the Legacy Scholarship Award for academic achievement and participation in extracurricular activities by a student with ancestral legacy at Capital University. This award is given to student who meet these criteria:

1) Son, daughter, or grandchild of a Capital alumnus in recognition of academic excellence and participation in extra-curricular activities

Each year, nominations for the awards are submitted by faculty, staff and administrators depending on the nature of the award. Winners are selected by committees based on a nominee's level of achievement in a specific area, and the criteria set forth by the donor who established the award. Awards range from $50 to $4,800.
