Capital University Recognizes Jonathan Lucas for Excellence During Annual Honors Convocation

Capital University honored nearly 70 students for excellence in academics, service, leadership and achievement in their discipline at the annual Honors Convocation held during spring semester near the end of the academic year.

Jonathan Lucas, of Chagrin Falls, OH 44023, received the Reverend John W. Mattern Alumni Prize recognizing the outstanding senior man who has participated in co-curricular actiities and is entitled to the highest honor in scholarship. This award is given to student who meet these criteria:

1) Outstanding senior man 2) Participation in co-curricular activities 3) Highest honors (GPA 3.8 or higher)

Each year, nominations for the awards are submitted by faculty, staff and administrators depending on the nature of the award. Winners are selected by committees based on a nominee's level of achievement in a specific area, and the criteria set forth by the donor who established the award. Awards range from $50 to $4,800.
