Capital University Recognizes C. Robert Weisgarber for Excellence During Annual Honors Convocation

Capital University honored nearly 70 students for excellence in academics, service, leadership and achievement in their discipline at the annual Honors Convocation held during spring semester near the end of the academic year.

C. Robert Weisgarber, of Columbus, OH 43229, received the William F. Bernlohr Award for achievement in athletics and scholarship, as well as responsibility, leadership, and religious principles. This award is given to student who meet these criteria:

Senior letterman who has participated on one or more varsity athletic teams and has a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better and has demonstrated the qualities of responsibility, leadership and religious principles.

Each year, nominations for the awards are submitted by faculty, staff and administrators depending on the nature of the award. Winners are selected by committees based on a nominee's level of achievement in a specific area, and the criteria set forth by the donor who established the award. Awards range from $50 to $4,800.
