Capital University Recognizes Alyssa Bass for Excellence During Annual Honors Convocation

Capital University honored nearly 70 students for excellence in academics, service, leadership and achievement in their discipline at the annual Honors Convocation held during spring semester near the end of the academic year.

Alyssa Bass, of Sandusky, OH 44870, received the Faculty Leadership Award for Outstanding Senior Woman recognizing leadership and academic achievement. This award is given to student who meet these criteria:

1) Meet graduation requirements within the academic year 2) Cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 by the end of the fall semester 3) Demonstrate leadership in campus activities and organizations 4) Show dependability in assignments 5) Work collaboratively 6) Demonstrate friendliness and helpfulness to others 7) Uphold college traditions

Each year, nominations for the awards are submitted by faculty, staff and administrators depending on the nature of the award. Winners are selected by committees based on a nominee's level of achievement in a specific area, and the criteria set forth by the donor who established the award. Awards range from $50 to $4,800.
